TDEE Calculator

Find your estimated daily calorie needs.

UNDERSTAND YOUR RESULT

How it works

Total Daily Energy Expenditure is an estimate of the energy used across a full day: resting processes, everyday movement and exercise.

THE CALCULATIONResting energy × activity factor

Using this calculator

Enter your measurements and choose the activity description closest to your usual week. We apply Mifflin–St Jeor, then the selected multiplier. The multipliers (1.2, 1.375, 1.55, 1.725 and 1.9) are broad modeling assumptions.

What to keep in mind

Use this estimate as a starting point, not a fixed daily requirement. Day-to-day movement, body composition and measurement error affect actual energy needs. Adults 20–100 only; not for pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Frequently asked questions

Is TDEE the same as BMR?

No. A resting-energy estimate covers energy at rest; TDEE also allows for activity.

How often should I recalculate?

Recalculate if your body weight or usual activity has meaningfully changed. Daily fluctuations do not require a new calculation.

How do I use this for a calorie goal?

Start with the maintenance estimate. The deficit and surplus tools let you explore a percentage change without predicting a rate of weight change.

Are my entries saved?

No. Calculator inputs remain in the current page and are cleared when you reload or leave. The tools do not upload your entries.

Why are results rounded?

The display is rounded for readability. Calculations use unrounded intermediate values. An estimate should not be interpreted as an exact measurement.
